We teach the latest styles and techniques, as well as professional skills, so that you have the knowledge and confidence to be Day 1 Ready at your new job.

In this program, you’ll work in our cutting-edge student salons, getting practical tips and interacting with real customers. You’ll practice cutting hair, dyeing, perming, and working with relaxers—plus, you’ll learn the chemistry of how these products mix with different types of hair. The course also covers braids, extensions, working with natural hairstyles, and the basics of manicures, pedicures, facials, and makeup. On top of all this, our graduates understand what’s expected from stylists in terms of professional conduct and good business practices—the skills you need to not only get a job but to grow in one.

Barber Stylist

As a professional barber, you’ll be part of one of America’s best-loved traditions. The barbershop is an institution in this country; a place where people come for a clean shave, a great haircut and good conversation. But barbering isn’t stuck in the past. Male and female barbers are finding success cutting both men and women’s hair. And more and more barbers are offering styling and specialty services like cornrows in addition to classic cuts. When you study with LaSalle Tech, you’ll learn the skills to succeed as a barber, whether you work for someone else or start your own business.

Your barber training will include theory and practical techniques. You also can train on the shop floor, getting hands-on practice and building your confidence as you cut clients’ hair. With our 1,200-hour program, you’ll learn such subjects as:

The curriculum in our Skin Care Program goes beyond the basics. Why? So, our students can develop a thorough understanding of the body’s largest organ and know the skin from the inside out. Literally! You’ll obtain all the fundamentals of skin therapy, including its structure and functions, skin conditions, and how to treat them through our successful partnership with Dermalogica®. We’ll also cover some of the latest advances in technology, products, and aesthetic equipment. But there’s even more – you will also learn skills such as hair removal techniques and eyebrow tinting as part of your training. Certification.

Instructor Training

(600 Hours)

The instructor training course is a 600 hour program and covers all phases of teaching methods and procedures. It teaches the Instructor to be able to communicate that knowledge to other cosmetology students effectively and exciting to the students. Lesson plans, lectures, and the use of audio/visual aids are one of the main focuses of this course. All courses are taught in English. The objective of the Instructor training is to provide teacher training for Cosmetologists who have the desire to teach the students. To prepare them to become a Licensed Instructor in the field of Cosmetology by working alongside seasoned professionals while preparing for State Board.

Medical Assistant

This 900 hour program thoroughly prepares students for the administrative skills medical administrative assistants need to know. This program integrates all of the front office topics and skill competencies required for today’s industry standards. This program also covers material dealing with medical office, medical records, medical billing, management skills, client service skills and responsibilities, client education and legal/ethical issues. It introduces the student to basic and general laboratory concepts and techniques used in medical office or clinic and definitions of medical assistant’s role in assisting with laboratory testing will be discussed. The program is built on the clinical theory and develops skills in medical specialty areas. The program has a Career Development component that will prepare the students for externship and job placement. Outside coursework is introduced to the students to successfully accomplish the course objective. Satisfactory academic progress is measured in credit hours.

Students will be placed in appropriate sites for externship to obtain additional training in a real clinical setting for 200 hours using the skills and knowledge acquired from classroom training. Students will gain experience in various skills such as documentation, various lab testing, quality control and safety rules regarding lab equipment and chemicals, electrocardiograph procedure and other clinical procedures.

Graduates of the Medical Assistant Technician program enter the workforce equipped with the knowledge and skills that employers are looking for when hiring entry-level personnel. You’ll be able to work directly with doctors, nurses, and patients in health care settings such as hospitals, clinics, labs, and medical offices. The following are some of the positions our graduates have qualified for:
